Faiv is a classic method Arneis where the very long aging becomes synonymous with importance and softness, depth and refinement. A fragrant sparkling wine with notes of chamomile and wildflowers, peach and vanilla. With a savory and silky impact, it evolves into ripe fruit, citrus fruits and nutmeg, not cutting out a refreshing acidity and a creamy texture, with a very fine and persistent perlage. That's the beauty of it: it's complex, but incredibly fresh - hey, not bad for a 2011! It works with fresh cheeses, raw and grilled fish, shellfish and spicy first courses, or for every time all-you-need is a bubble with all the trappings.

Castellinaldo d'Alba, deep in Roero. Under the wise guidance of the progenitor Sergio Marchisio, his children Fabio and Ivo work alongside them in the vineyard and in the cellar, and Elena, Marisa and Francesco where the wine happens and where everything else moves. Marchisio cultivates about twenty hectares trained on the Guyot system, mostly of Arneis, to which are added Barbera and Nebbioli, all organic and biodynamic. The hilly terrains are exposed to the south-east and consist mainly of calcareous marl and sandy soil of alluvial origin.
