Harvested from the orchard
planted by Nonno Iele
of the Braja farm, this pear compote made of ancient Piedmontese varieties will revolutionise your concept of compote. We are warning you: this is not your's baby food! Small and full of taste, these pears with their heady scent and addictive taste have been preserved with the addition of a very small quantity of sugar and lemon juice, so that they can represent as closely as possible those harvested from trees. Perfect with hard cheeses, especially mountain pastures, to be spread on toast, to fill a tart or, why not, to directly dive your finger into, with no sense of guilt!
Ingredients: pears, sugar, lemon juice.
Braja was born from a vegetable garden, a small and generous piece of land in the farmhouse of the Olocco family in Sommariva del Bosco which during the summer of 2020 gave us its abundant and delicious fruits. Fruits so abundant that we decided to transform and share them. Braja's project starts from the earth. We are first of all a farm, a reality with an ancient peasant history with very close ties with the territory and its actors. We are a network of producers and we bring together agricultural realities that share, as we do, the values promoted by Slow Food: projects looking at environmental sustainability, the promotion of biodiversity and the protection of Piedmontese farming knowledge. Our values are transferred into the selection of unique, excellent and expressive products we offer you. Each product tells its history and it does this in the same way we do it on the farm: out loud.
